Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information this website collects, how that information is used and protected, and the choices you have about it. It applies to information collected through this website. It does not govern information you give us after we agree to represent you, which is covered by our professional duty of confidentiality.
Please do not send sensitive information through this website. Do not include your Social Security number, date of birth, driver’s license number, or bank or credit card details in a form or an email. We do not need any of that to tell you whether we can help, and email is not a secure channel. If you send it anyway, you do so at your own risk. If we already represent you and you are sending documents for your case, follow the instructions on our Send documents page — and use fax or mail instead of email for any document that shows your Social Security number or date of birth.
What we collect
We collect information in three ways: from what you send us, from our web server’s own records, and from cookies.
What you send us
If you complete the free case review form, we ask for your name, email address and phone number, and for information about the claim itself — the age of the disabled person, whether an application has already been filed, whether a hearing is scheduled, whether benefits are being paid by the VA or a private disability insurer, and questions about the medical situation, including the most disabling condition, recent major surgery, autoimmune disease and whether the state has made a Seriously Mentally Ill determination.
Those health questions are there for one reason: they are what let us tell quickly whether a claim is one we can take, and what stage it is at. Answer them in general terms. A sentence is enough — you do not need to attach records or give us a full history at this stage.
If you email or call us instead, we keep what you tell us for the same purpose.
Server records
Like every website, ours runs on a server that keeps a log of requests made to it. Those logs may record:
- your IP address and your internet service provider
- the approximate city, state and country you are connecting from
- the browser and device you are using
- the date and time of your visit
- the pages you viewed and the links you followed
- the page or search that sent you to us
We use these logs to keep the site running, to see which pages are useful, and to identify abuse such as automated attacks. We do not use them to try to identify you personally.
Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files a website asks your browser to store.
We use Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics to understand how the site is used — which pages people visit, how they arrived, and whether our advertising works. These tools set cookies and send usage data, including your IP address, to Google, under Google’s privacy policy. We see visits in aggregate; we do not use analytics to try to identify you personally, and nothing you type into a form is sent to an analytics service.
The map on our contact page is embedded from Google Maps. Loading it sends your IP address to Google and lets Google set its own cookies, under Google’s privacy policy rather than ours. If you would rather not load it, you can reach our office using the address and directions printed beside the map.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Doing so will not stop you using this site.
How we use what you send
We use it to answer you, to work out whether we may be able to represent you, and to reach you about your inquiry. If you ask us to stop contacting you, we will.
We do not sell personal information. We do not rent or trade mailing lists. We do not share what you send us with anyone for their own marketing.
Sending a form does not make us your lawyers
Contacting us through this website does not create an attorney–client relationship, and it does not make us responsible for any deadline in your case. Information you send before we agree in writing to represent you may not be protected by attorney–client privilege. Do not send anything you would not want read by someone outside the firm until we have confirmed that we are representing you.
Once we do represent you, everything you tell us is confidential and protected by the rules of professional conduct that govern Arizona lawyers.
Who else sees it
We do not make your information available to unaffiliated parties, with three exceptions:
- Service providers. Companies that host this site, deliver our email or handle our phones may process information on our behalf, and only for that purpose.
- Referrals. We handle Social Security disability claims and nothing else. If your situation is one we cannot take, and we know a lawyer who can, we may pass on what you told us so they can follow up — but only if you ask us to refer you.
- Where the law requires it. In response to a valid legal demand, where someone’s safety is at risk, or in connection with a transfer of the firm’s practice.
Keeping it, and keeping it safe
We keep inquiry information for as long as we need it to respond, and afterwards for as long as our professional and record-keeping obligations require. We take reasonable steps to protect it, but no website or email system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee it against every possible attack.
Do Not Track
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for what a site should do in response, and this site does not change its behavior when it receives one. What we collect is described above, and it is the same either way.
Children
This site is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children. Claims involving a disabled child are made by a parent or guardian, who is the person we deal with.
Your choices
You can contact us at any time to ask what information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to have it deleted, or to be taken off any list we contact. Reaching us by phone is the quickest way, and we will not ask you to explain why.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle information in any significant way, we will post the revised policy on this page and change the date below.
